Educational Technology, according to M.D. Roblyer and Aaron H. Doering (2010), has been define as “a combination of the processes and tools involved in addressing educational needs and problems, with an emphasis on applying the most current tools: computer and other electronic technologies”
(Roblyer & Doering, 2010).

Processes are the instructional procedures used to deliver instruction through educational tools i.e., approach to teaching
  • learning and behavioral theories;
  • technological applications used to prepare students for the future and jobs that have not been invented yet
  • teaching students how to learn

Tools are mostly thought of as technologically based resources used in learning
  • Computers (Capabilities, Convergence, Complexity)
  • Media
  • Instructional systems
  • Computer-based support systems (i.e., lessons and grading programs, etc.)
